A very simple garden, lawn, trees, water, strict evergreen planting. This front, rear or enclosed garden is a low terraced space, leading down to a large shallow pool. The upper lawned terrace is planted with standard Salix Britzensis - just coming into leaf for spring but still with its colourful winter bark. The trees are disposed in a loose necklace around the terrace, Delicate lighting contributes to this elevated necklace effect. The second terrace level is a simple lawn, edging onto the pool. The difference in levels is marked by simple planting - dwarf box runs around the lawn. The garden can be traversed on all levels, but a path of stepping stoned crosses the pool to reach a raised seating area and large wooden bird-house, flanked by a pair of Starck's Bubble Club plastic garden armchairs. |
